OmegaPro: Football Legends Rekindle Rivalries in Advance of the FIFA World Cup in 2022

November 22, 2022, Male, Maldives The much-anticipated second OmegaPro Luminaries Cup, which featured football legends, took place in the Maldives just a few weeks before the highly anticipated 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

OmegaPro, a global marketing leader, went to Maldives with over 1000 people in the first week of November to launch the second edition of the Legends Cup in Maldives. We saw the likes of Spanish great Carles Puyol, who also spent a lot of time at FC Barcelona with Lionel Messi, Nigerian and PSG icon Jay Jay Okocha, Bacary Sagna, the French footballer whom Arsène Wenger described as the best right-back in the Premier League, and others send ripples down the Indian Ocean as they laced up their boots one more time to create the greatest football event in recent times.

The OmegaPro Diamond Cup event had 12 teams from across the globe competing to build up the ideal conclusion for the football icons to show them how it's done.

The stage was prepared for fans from all around the world to see their cherished legends boot up for the last time.

Former players included Colombian goalkeeper Faryd Mondragón, center-back Mario Yepes, Italian center-back and World Cup winner Marco Materazzi, Mexican defender Ricardo Osorio, Argentine midfielder Esteban Cambiasso, German striker Kevin Kurányi, French right-back Bacary Sagna, center-back Eric Abidal, winger Robert Pires, Nigerian midfielder Jay-Jay Okocha, Dutch striker Patrick

Former Indian cricketer and IPL icon Suresh Raina, as well as OmegaPro's brand ambassador Suniel Shetty, were on hand to cheer on the players.

Three rounds of unrivaled soccer dominance were on display. The players fought hard, and it took a penalty shootout to decide who would win the Legends Cup. The legends showed everyone why they are still at the top of international soccer.
